I have always enjoyed maths and been good with numbers so its not that surprising that I have been working in finance since I was 17 years old. Fresh out of high school I worked in my Mother’s business gaining an understanding of how a financial planning business worked. It also highlighted the technical knowledge required to run a business and work in this industry.
Knowing that I needed more experience I applied for a Call Centre job at AMP and was successful. This was challenging but a great grounding for moving onto other roles elsewhere in the company.
During my time at AMP I worked in a variety of roles from the Quality team where we assessed people on their ability to perform their roles and made process improvement recommendations, the Reporting team where I headed up the statistical data reporting to management, and the Resource Planning team where we worked with management to ensure staff numbers were appropriate and built and managed the Resource Plans for the Business Units across AMP.
Over the years I watched my mother make such a positive impact on client’s lives through her work I knew this was what I also wanted to do so I could help others navigate their way through the financial aspects of life.
Jordan's ideas of Financial Freedom
For me Financial Freedom is about having choices about how you spend your time. I would like to travel the world ticking more destinations off my “bucket list”, meeting new people and experiencing all the different cultures as I go. When I’m not at work I spend my time out socialising with my friends and focusing on enjoying life.
